Geometry C.a.R. Project 3

Now you will be doing some basic constructions.

You will need to start with some basic items:

  1. Three independent bold line segments that are red, green, and blue.
  2. Three independent angles that are red, green, and blue. Be sure to include the rays for each angle, the rays should be thin lines.
  3. Display the measurements of all of these items and name them: segments are lowercase, angles are uppercase; reds are 'a', greens are 'b', and blues are 'c'.
  4. We are going to work with the different triangle congruence possibilities.
  5. Create each of the following triangles:
    1. ASA - use A, c, and B = red
    2. SSS - use a, b, and c = blue
    3. SAS - use a, C, and b = green
    4. AAS - use A, B, and a = brown
    5. ASS - use C, a, and b
  6. Label each triangle with the congruence name. Fill them in different colors as listed above.
Save this in your CaR folder as project3.

Geometry C.a.R. Project 1

Your first assignment is to get a basic feel for the C.a.R. interface.

  1. I want you to create:
  2. A bold red line
  3. A green ray that intersects the line
  4. A dotted blue segment that has one endpoint on the ray and one on the line. Display the length of this segment.
  5. A brown circle that has a radius equal to the line segment's length but does not touch the line segment.
  6. A black circle that intersects the brown circle twice.
  7. Two bold blue points in the shape of squares at the points of intersection of the two circles.
  8. A thin red angle with both rays included use the center of the black circle as the vertex and the two points from step seven as points on the rays. Display the angle measure.
  9. A thin green angle with both rays included use the center of the brown circle as the vertex and the two points from step seven as points on the rays. Display the angle measure.
  10. Display an expression that is the difference between the two angles in 8 and 9.
Create a folder in your my documents folder named "CaR". Save this construction as project1.

Geometry C.a.R. Project 2

Now you will be doing some basic constructions.

You will need to start with some basic items:

  1. Three independent bold line segments that are red, green, and blue.
  2. Three independent angles that are red, green, and blue. Be sure to include the rays for each angle, the rays should be thin lines.
  3. Display the measurements of all of these items.
  4. Now we are going to use geometric techniques to copy these segments and angles. We have already learned these techniques before using paper. We will now use them on the computer.
  5. I will help you in class with copying the red segment and the red angle. These copies will need to be brown.
  6. You need to copy the other angles and segments. The blue originals should be copied in cyan. The green originals should be copied in brown.
  7. When you have finished with your copies, test them. You should be able to change the size of the original objects and they will adjust the copies.
Save this in your CaR folder as project2.
